Representatives from the Delta County criminal justice system met to discuss the progress towards instituting a Drug Court in Delta County.
Recently, Judge Steve Parks from the 94th District Court presented other community representatives with the plan and timeline for the local Drug Court. Representatives included law enforcement agencies, probation agents, community corrections, substance abuse agencies, Delta County Prosecutor, and 47th Circuit Court representatives. The group discussed the format and goals of the court as well as upcoming trainings.
Judge Parks, Delta County Prosecutor Philip Strom, and District Court Administrator Emily DeSalvo are attending a training in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 15-16, 2016. The training is hosted by the Michigan Association of Treatment Court Professionals. The Drug Court team is optimistic the Delta County Drug Court will be up and running by the end of 2016.
